The Canon EOS 7D is a great camera for the serious advanced beginner or even experienced professional photographers. Now, you can capture your kids running, playing sports, swinging, and those nature shots that have in the past, eluded your capture. This camera is definitely high-end. It is the only single digit model with the APS-C size sensor; and whether you're a beginner or a serious photographer, the price of this camera will make it easy to upgrade your photography arsenal.

The EOS 7D is built with an 18mp sensor and a new Autofocus System, and it is the most advanced AF system ever included in an EOS Digital SLR camera. It has numerous selection modes, including Spot AF, Point Expansion AF, and Zone AF.

Spot AF mode reduces the size of a single focus point so you can focus on small subjects.
Point Expansion AF mode uses the cluster of focus points around the selected focus point to automatically assist focusing on moving subjects, like a child swinging.
Zone AF divides the 19 auto focus points into five focusing zones and makes it easier to achieve focus on subjects that are difficult to follow, like a bumble bee.

Another great feature of the auto focus system is the Auto focus Point Switching, which allows photographers to select and register one focus point for horizontal compositions and a second focus point for vertical shooting. This is excellent for portrait photographers and or studio photographers.

The shutter is rated to 150,000 shots and is capable of speeds up to 1/8000 of a second, with flash speed of 1/250 of a second. Canon's new Intelligent Viewfinder uses liquid crystal overlay to provide clear displays. This overlay can be illuminated in low light.

The dual Digic IV processors allow the Canon 7D SLR camera perform at 8 frames per second continuous shooting. The buffer allows up to 94 frames in large JPEG mode, and up to 15 frames in RAW mode. If you use a UDMA CF card, you can increase this slightly.
